Uninstalling the software on Linux

You can uninstall the software in any one of the methods such as the GUI mode, the silent mode, and the console mode. You can choose to uninstall the software by using any one of the uninstallation methods regardless of the mode of installation.

Uninstalling by using the GUI mode

When you want to remove the server and its components from your system, use the GUI mode.

Before you begin

Before you uninstall the server, exit the server, as well as any open browsers, and all other applications that are enabled by the application.

Procedure

Log in as root user and enter the following commands in the terminal:
  • cd <install-dir>/Uninstall
  • ./Uninstall-HCL-OneTest-Server
A GUI window is launched and you must follow the on-screen instructions.

Uninstalling in silent mode

When you want to remove the server and its components from the system where GUI mode is not supported, use the silent uninstall option.

Before you begin

You must have closed the product software, any open web browsers, and all other applications that are enabled by the application.

Procedure

  1. Log in as a root user
  2. Change the current directory to the installation directory by using the following command:

    cd <directory path>/<installation folder>/Uninstall.
    For example, if you have installed in the default path, enter the following command:
    cd /opt/HCL/OneTest-Server/Uninstall

  3. Back up the user data during the uninstallation process by entering the following command:

    ./Uninstall-HCL-OneTest-Server -uninstall -i silent -DTAKE_BACKUP_1="Yes" -DREMOVE_VOLUMES_1="Yes"

    Note: If you want to uninstall the software without backing up the user data, set the DTAKE_BACKUP parameter to No. After backing up the user data, if you want to remove the user data on the docker volumes, set the DREMOVE_VOLUMES_1 parameter to Yes.

Uninstalling by using the console mode

When you want to remove the server and its components from the workstation that uses the Ubuntu platform where GUI mode is not supported, use uninstall the software using the console mode.

Before you begin

You must have closed the product software, any open web browsers, and all other applications that are enabled by the application.

Procedure

  1. Log in as a root user.
  2. Change the current directory to the installation directory by using the following command:

    cd <directory path>/<installation folder>/Uninstall.
    For example, if you have installed in the default path, enter the following command:
    cd /opt/HCL/OneTest-Server/Uninstall

  3. Initiate the installation process by entering the following command:

    ./Uninstall-HCL-OneTest-Server -uninstall -i console

  4. Read the introduction about the uninstallation process and press Enter.
  5. Choose to back up the user data stored in the Docker volumes by pressing the appropriate key.
    1. Press Enter or 1 to take a back up of the user data which is the default option.
    2. Press 2 to continue with the installation without backing up the user data.
    The server service is stopped and the uninstallation process is initiated.
  6. Exit the console mode by pressing Enter after the uninstallation is completed. The server is uninstalled.
