Uninstalling the software

You can uninstall the software either in the GUI mode or in the silent mode.

Uninstalling by using the GUI mode

When you want to remove the server and its components from your system, use the GUI mode.

Before you begin

Before you uninstall the server, exit the server, as well as any open browsers, and all other applications that are enabled by the application.

Procedure

  1. To uninstall the server, complete the following steps.
    • If you are using Linux, go to Step 2.
    • If you are using Windows, go to Step 3.

To uninstall the software on Linux machine, you must perform the following tasks:

  1. Log in as root user and enter the following commands in the terminal:
    • cd <install-dir>/Uninstall
    • ./Uninstall-HCL-OneTest-Server

    A GUI window is launched and you must follow the on-screen instructions.

To uninstall the software on Windows machine, you must perform the following tasks:

  1. On the Start menu, click Add or remove programs option.
  2. On the Apps & Features page, click on the product software that you want to remove.
  3. Click Uninstall. A dialog appears with the warning message.
  4. Click Uninstall and follow the on-screen instructions. The product software gets removed from your system.

Uninstalling in silent mode

When you want to remove the server and its components from the system where GUI mode is not supported, use the silent uninstall option.

Before you begin

You must have closed the product software, any open web browsers, and all other applications that are enabled by the application.

Procedure

  1. Run the command prompt as an administrator.
    Note: To uninstall the product on Linux machine, log in as a root user.
  2. Change the current directory to the installation directory by using the following command: .
    • On Windows: cd <directory path>\<installation folder>\Uninstall.
      For example, if you have installed in the default path, enter the following command:
      cd C:\Program Files\HCL\Uninstall
    • On Linux: cd <directory path>/<installation folder>/Uninstall.
      For example, if you have installed in the default path, enter the following command:
      cd /opt/HCL/OneTest-Server/Uninstall
  3. Enter the following command to complete the uninstallation process with a back up of the user data.
    • On Windows:

      Uninstall-HCL-OneTest-Server.exe -uninstall -DTAKE_BACKUP_1=Yes -DREMOVE_VOLUMES=No.

    • On Linux:

      ./Uninstall-HCL-OneTest-Server -uninstall -DTAKE_BACKUP_1="Yes" -DREMOVE_VOLUMES_1="Yes"

    Note: If you want to uninstall the software without backing up the user data, set the DTAKE_BACKUP parameter to No. After backing up the user data, if you want to remove the user data on the docker volumes, set the DREMOVE_VOLUMES_1 parameter to Yes.
